School’s Out! Hit the town, Whitefish Style!

School’s Out! Hit the town, Whitefish Style!

You’ve been to Glacier National Park, went whitewater rafting, already visited Whitefish Mountain Resort… now what? A relaxing day explore our small town may be just what you need.

First things first, we recommend renting an e-bike. They make getting around town easy, fun, and you don’t have to worry about parking. We offer 2-hour, 4-hour, and full day rates. Ride these down to City Beach at Whitefish Lake via the multitude of bike trails in the area. Go for a quick swim or rent a kayak and paddle around the lake for an hour or two. Better yet, grab some ice cream and enjoy the view.

After you’re finished here, take the bikes up and around Whitefish Lake for spectacular views of the lake on every side. Keep in mind, this is an out-and-back ride. There is not a loop around the lake.

If you were looking for a more active day, go for a hike just outside of town at either Lion Mountain or Beaver Lakes. Whitefish Legacy Partners is a great resource for trail suggestions and logistics. If you have any questions about trails near the area, stop by our shop. We’re happy to help you plan your day in Whitefish.

As always when planning an outdoor excursion make sure you #RecreateResponsibly:

  • Know before you go
  • Plan & prepare
  • Build an inclusive outdoors
  • Respect others
  • Leave no trace
  • Make it better

Last but not least, if you were looking for a completely stress free day… we recommend hoping between the multitude of bars and restaurants Whitefish has to offer. Start in town and slowly make your way to the Lodge at Whitefish Lake for happy hour. Some of our favorite stops are: The Bulldog (takes the award for the best burger), the Great Northern Bar (best local spot), Blackstar Brewery (best outdoor space), and Haskill Creek Farm (best spot on a Wednesday evening).

Happy Whitefish, y’all. Thanks for visiting. Reach out, info@whitefishoutfitters.com, with any questions anytime.
